DAM Steam Desuperheater
High-performance steam desuperheater for demanding applications
The DAM steam desuperheater is used to improve the thermal efficiency of heat transfer processes by lowering the steam temperature close to the saturation point. This desuperheater is designed for applications where large quantities of spray water are required to cool the steam, ensuring reliable performance in high-demand environments. The DAM features a welded flow profiling liner for superior evaporation and performance, meeting all existing standards and undergoing rigorous pressure testing on both the steam and water sides.
- Welded flow profiling liner for improved system performance and protection against thermal shock and erosion.
- Nozzles receive water from a common spray pipe encircling the steam pipe for even distribution across all nozzles.
- Spray water flow is controlled by an external spray water valve, regulated through a temperature control system based on the downstream steam temperature.
- Nozzle design prevents flashing inside the nozzle, ensuring reliable atomisation of water.
- Each nozzle maintains a specific water atomisation pressure under any flow condition.
- The DAM can be redesigned as a flow meter if required.
